If I had the possibility of know a foreign country, I would like to go to Russia. I always wanted to go to Saint Petersburg, however, I never had the time or enough money to visit the city. The first time I thought in knowing Russia was during the high school because in that moment I had a sort of admiration for Catherine the Great and the cultural development she pressed on the city, principally, with the foundation of the Ermitage Museum and the architectonical remodelling of the place.
Saint Petersburg is the nearest russian city to Europe and because of that, always lived between both cultures and was a scenario of war battles. Plus, after de October Revolution it became a strategic place for the USSR and for that reason changed several times of name, passing from Petrograd to Leningrad and finally Saint Petersburg. I love History and I like to know places historically relevant.
Also, If I'ld have the time and money I would like travel to Moscow and take the Trans-Siberian Train to cross the country and the continent. Some of my friends made this trip and all of them says is amazing.
