New chilean English writer and readers

If I had to choose a place in the world as the best, I would definitely choose New Orleans. This southern city is unique in its friendliness, respect  and cultural activities. I visited this beautiful city in June 2016, and I immediately fell in love with it because  what I experienced there was completely different from what I had lived in other places. The first singular behavior I noticed was that people walked slowly, and this allowed them to look at other people and smile. In fact, people from New Orleans were very friendly to visitors and also to the environment.   This friendliness also means respect to me. Another area where they show their respect and friendliness is with the environment.

It is really difficult for me to choose a place as the best, but I am going to pick “Torres del Paine” National Park, in the Chilean Patagonia. This is a great place to view amazing landscapes and to make friends. The first time when I was there was in the summer of 2014 with my girlfriend and other 3 friends. We had read a lot about the park and exercised to prepare ours bodies for the trip, but nothing was enough. Was a very exhausting experience, but everything worth the effort. The trip started in the lovely city of Puerto Natales and there we took a bus to the park. There, we started to walk in the side to a river until a flower field that we needed to go across until the first camp. After that, we walked in a trees surrounded way and at the end could see a hanging glacier with a lovely lagoon. The most exhausting day, was the most exciting too. If I had the possibility of know a foreign country, I would like to go to Russia. I always wanted to go to Saint Petersburg, however, I never had the time or enough money to visit the city. The first time I thought in knowing Russia was during the high school because in that moment I had a sort of admiration for Catherine the Great and the cultural development she pressed on the city, principally, with the foundation of the Ermitage Museum and the architectonical remodelling of the place. Saint  Petersburg is the nearest russian city to Europe and because of that, always lived between both cultures and was a scenario of war battles. Plus, after de October Revolution it became a strategic place for the USSR and for that reason changed several times of name, passing from Petrograd to Leningrad and finally Saint Petersburg. A part of Central América! If I had the possibility to visit another country, I would like to visit Guatemala and Costa Rica. The culture and history of Guatemala captive my attention so much. By other hand, Costa Rica has an amazing nature places full of green landscape and animals. The most important thing to me is to get involve in a different culture, where people live in a rural area very close to historic ruins. If I had the possibility in Guatemala to stay into a community sharing a traditional lifestyle would be amazing for me. In Costa Rica case, I would love to live some days in a totally disconnection into the Jungle and be able to flow with the nature. In addition, I would like to take photos in both countries, as a visual register of the experience. I cannot stop imaging some photos of the wonderful people, flora and fauna of these countries in my apartment wall. I would visit Mexico. I was there recently, in San Luis Potosí, but I feel that there are lots of things to do even in that little city and I would visit this country again, and again, and again... Some important places to visit are museums, for example the “Museo de la Máscara” in San Luis Potosí, historical and religious structures, such as churches and castles, and natural sanctuaries. An aspect that make Mexico unique is the rich mythology and culture of Aztecs, Toltecs, Olmecs, Mayas and other prehispanic civilizations. It was amazing that Quetazlcoatl (or Kukulcan) had a similar symbolism to the greek god Prometeus!! Or the sad association between Quetzalcoatl and the Devil because their serpent form. In addition, the people of San Luis Potosí are so warm and gentle with foreign, I don’t have to pay lodging due to my new Mexican friends! And they love the multiculturality :) I hope that it is a characteristic of all Mexican people.

If I had the possibility to visit a foreign country, I would visit Thailand. First of all, I feel very attracted to natural and urban landscapes. In the country you can find natural parks, like Khao Yai park, where you can find a forest and experience wildlife tours, where you can see elephants, bears, macaques and different bird species. Besides, the beaches are spectacular, I really want to see a sunrise and sunset there. In the city, mainly the capital of the country, Bangkok, there’s a lot of beautiful temples, in majority Buddhist, which have an amazing architecture. Some of them are Wat Arun, Wat Trimitr and Wat Saket. Last but not least, the culture of the country calls my attention, especially the language. In addition, the food based on fruits seems delicious. I have to add that I’m interested in the tropical clime of the place, that is very different to Chile.

If I had the possibility to visit another country, I would like go to Thailand. Because I met a girl from that country and she told me about her country.  She said that there are very nice people, so it is very easy to make friends and to have great moments. I have read about that country and I found many reasons to go there. First, there are beautiful beaches and some places have one of the clearest waters to dive, with a very colorful fauna that you can only find there. Also, In Thailand there is an ancient culture and there are very old ruins which you can visit and know a little bit more about how the people lived in those years. Finally, in Thailand there is one of most famous food you can eat, I want to try exotic food, different flavors that I use to try. I am looking forward to be there very soon.

If I had the opportunity to travel to another country, I would love to visit England, because of the rich culture they have, all the tales and beautiful places, the castles. Because it is an island, they have a very specific and own way to think, they are very idiosyncratic, they respect different religions, and are very respectful about it. Part of the legends that many people believe is in the existence of goblins, they even design they roadways to not interfere with places that are believe to be a cemetery for this creatures. I would love to visit Stonehenge, and all the beauty hills and the clean air of that country. Another thing I would like to see are the castles, there are many there and are magnificent. Also the cemeteries have this mixture of religions, all that they achieve to pass undercover by the imposition of the catholic religion but any way they keep going with his beliefs undercover. 

If I had the possibility to visit a foreign country, I would definitely visit Australia.  The fact that this  country is also a continent has made me curious all my life, but this is not the main reason to visit this southern country. The main reason is that I have heard how they speak English in films and the way they speak is not so easy to understand, and as I love languages and dialects, I would love to speak to Australians and see how well we can understand each other. Another important reason is that I have watched documentaries about the exotic plants, mammals, reptiles and frogs that are unique to  Australia. For example, kangarous, koalas, dingos are animals that I have never had the opportunity t osee, and I think that the real experience of seeing them in their natural habitats would be wonderful.
